Extracurriculars: Craft Your Intentions (A Therapeutic Art-making Workshop)
Extracurriculars: Craft Your Intentions (A Therapeutic Art-making Workshop)
Extracurriculars at Pep Club presents Craft Your Intentions: A Therapeutic Art-making Workshop!
Sunday, January 12 // 1:00-3:00 // 749 N Ashland Ave
Join Amanda & Hannah, two provisionally-licensed art therapists, as they lead you through artmaking to identify your intentions for the new year. The workshop will focus on exploring desires, rather than goals, as a way to bring joy to the start of a new year. Art-making will include painting and collaging a visible reminder for your home. We will provide all materials (fridge magnets, intention cards, collage supplies, etc.) as well as cozy beverages and a take-home pamphlet to guide further reflection.
Descriptions of Facilitators:
Amanda Barr, MA, ATR-P
Amanda is a provisionally licensed art therapist and counselor with experience in residential, private, and community-based settings. She is a practicing artist with a deep love for fiber art and painting. Amanda has always found the act of artmaking to be a powerful exploration of her own thoughts and experiences, and art therapy provides her with an avenue for guiding others in that process. Amanda lives in Chicago with her two cats and loves rock climbing, lake jumping, board game playing, and reading.
Hannah Kaplan, MA, ATR-P
As an art therapist, Hannah is passionate about exploring how our personal stories influence the way we navigate the world. She believes creativity provides a meaningful way to process these experiences, find personal understanding, and navigate the complexities of the human experience. Outside of her work, Hannah loves immersing herself in tabletop role-playing games, getting lost in books, hanging with her cats, and experimenting with craft hobbies.
